NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting for the members of the Society will be held  on Thursday, November 27, 2024, 7:00 PM for the purpose of discussing and voting on the following  Resolutions:  

1. Approval of Minutes from the 2024 AGM  

2. Approval of the Society Financial Statements  

3. Election of Existing Members to the Board of Directors. Below are the members that have  allowed their names to stand to remain on the Board of Directors:  

1- President – Dwayne Kelly

2 - Vice President – Petra Acorn

3 - Fundraising - Open

4 - Treasurer – Curtis McKinnon 

5 - Registrar –  Open

6 - Screening Officer – Cathy Stonehouse

7 - Member at Large – Evan Romanow

Our Bylaws allow for up to nine members on the Board of Directors. We have many younger families  that are members of the Club. The Board would like to see more input from these families. If you have  an interest in joining our board, please contact Dwayne Kelly to discuss (kelly.dwayne@gmail.com) We do  most Board of Director business via GOOGLE MEET/TEAMs and by email. The Board of Directors deals with  mostly governance issues. All of the operational business is handled by an Executive Committee ("EC")  currently made up of four members from the Board. All decisions of the EC are reviewable by the Board.  

PURSUANT TO THE SOCIETY BYLAWS, ALL MEMBERS CAN PASS THE ABOVE NOTED RESOLUTIONS BY  EMAIL VOTING. We strongly encourage everyone to participate by email if you cannot attend the  AGM.

📣 We’re pleased to announce the appointment of our NEW Ski Head Coach: Stephan Bokalo — whose experience, leadership, and passion for freestyle skiing will bring renewed energy and direction to our program. Stephan brings a wealth of hands-on experience in freestyle skiing, coaching, and course development, making him an ideal leader to guide our athletes toward excellence. Key Qualifications and Experience: Skiing Background: Stephan has a strong foundation in freestyle skiing, having trained with top clubs including the Alberta Mogul Team (under Coach Chris Peel), Jasper Freeride (under Coaches Randy Timmins and Chris Peel), and Edmonton Freestyle Ski Club (under Coaches Emilie Brown, Mike Flew, and Kennan Szott). Coaching Certifications: Fully qualified in Fundamentalz On-Snow Module, Air 1 Trampoline Basics, Air 2 Trampoline Inverts, trained in Air 3 (pending qualification). and Air 4 On-Snow Inverts; Complementary Skills and Background: Athletic Experience: Competed in hockey (2011–2018) and was part of the City Champion Austin O’Brian Senior Volleyball team in 2021, showcasing teamwork and competitive spirit. Related Professional Exposure: Shadowed physiotherapy at Advantage Sports Medicine and has served as a soccer referee in Edmonton. Personal Strengths: Passionate about strength and conditioning, running,mountain biking, backpacking, canoeing, and golf, which align with promoting athlete fitness and outdoor resilience. Stephan’s youthful energy, technical expertise, and proven track record in freestyle skiing position him to inspire and elevate our team. Please join us in welcoming him to this role!

The 24_25 season is officially packed away. Thank you to the small but mighty crew of workers who packed up the mogul course, got the air bag off the hill and cleaned and reorganized the gear shed this past weekend. 👋
The time has come for us to clean-up our venues on the hill. 🥲 ℹ Please join us for a work bee on Saturday April 26 for cleaning up fencing at the mogul course. packing up the cat basket and digging out the air bag anchors at P3. ✨We appreciate all hands that can help. 🙌 We will follow up our clean up with a Parking Lot BBQ for the club. 😎 Please RSVP attendance numbers to Lindsey by end of day on April 24.
Our Freestylerz and Fundamentalz skiers had a great Easter day looking for some softer terrain to explore with Coach Charles. It looks like the crew ended up in Tres Hombres with positive reviews! 😁 Happy Easter everyone! 🐣
📣We are hiring! Jasper Freeride Ski Team is taking applications for the position of Head Coach. ✨The Head Coach is responsible for providing year-round first-class programming to the athlete members of JFST. This role involves technical coaching, team management, administrative duties, and overseeing other coaching staff. It has been a difficult year for Jasper and the club. Many of our families were affected by the Jasper fire and we all can see the devastation the fire created. 💙Some of our JFST family members and coaches lost everything in the fire. We have one athlete that was upset about the loss of Freestyle medals. There are many things we cannot replace that were lost in the fire but we can replace medals. Therefore it is JFST’s pleasure to re-present 2024 M10 slopestyle silver 🥈and mogul bronze🥉 to Elijah Scott.

📣 Our last batch of Try Freeride Days is coming up fast and we are still taking registrations for ski and snowboard participants. ✅Your $25 fee includes the necessary insurance required for you to ski or ride with our club for the day. You will practice with our coaches and team members in freestyle disciplines ranging from all mountain, park, moguls (ski only), and have access to trying our air bag for a piece of the day if you are feeling sendy 😎.
