Jasper Freeride Ski Team is a Freestyle Skiing Program designed to introduce and progress skiers ages 6 to U18 in the following skiing disciplines:

  • Freestyle – Slope/Park

  • Moguls

  • Freestyle – Big Air

  • All-Mountain Freeride

We focus on a fun, group-oriented environment where skiers are coached and encouraged to progress alongside like-minded athletes.

⚠️ Important — NOT a learn to ski program
(We love enthusiasm… but we are not the place for first-ever turns!)

Prior to joining our programming please ensure your skier meets the readiness checklist below.

If your skier still needs to learn the basics, we highly recommend scheduling lessons with Marmot Basin’s Snow School before joining our program.

Our Program

Training Days

We run:

  • Sundays

  • Saturdays

  • School Break camps

From December 1 – April 30 at Marmot Basin.

Please view our Training Calendar to see dates your Program is running.

Competitions

We target attending AB Freestyle and Freestyle Canada sanctioned Competitions. As per their targeted event schedule.

Skiers - Readiness Checklist

To participate in our programming your skier should at minimum be able to:

Execute consistent wedge turns and be progressing toward parallel
Ski confidently on green runs
Be comfortable on blue runs
Maintain control & speed

We highly encourage that your skier has 2–3 seasons of ski school lessons or equivalent experience with a knowledgeable adult.

Not sure if they’re ready?

Before registering any new athlete, families must consult with the Board, Head Coach, or a Team Manager.

Why? Because this quick conversation ensures:
Your athlete is actually ready
They enter the correct program
No surprises for families or coaches

If a family registers a new athlete not ready for our programming without consultation, the registration will be refunded BUT SnowReg processing fees are non-refundable.
(Translation: please check with us first… it saves everyone headaches.)

Additional Requirements

  • As a sanctioned club with Freestyle Alberta. It is mandatory for all athletes to hold a CFSA membership to ski with our club.

  • Lift Passes are not included in our programming registration. A Marmot Basin ski pass/ticket will be required.

    • Due to the number of training days a Season Pass is recommended.

  • Competitions and training at alternative venues will require additional lift passes.

  • Gear and equipment requirements

    • are listed as per program categories below.
